Kris from Bulgaria may only be 17, but he already brings so much experience to the stage from his many talent show appearances. It shows in this rehearsal, which is measured and mature beyond his years.
I still haven’t seen Australia, the most comparable to this track, but I was similarly concerned both might sound too old for such young performers. I don’t need to worry about Kris: he’s completely convincing in this.
Sven, the chandelier, starts lowered, and lifts effectively, and the performance – despite being a fairly traditional sounding song – is enhanced by contemporary moves in the camera transitions, and some subtle animations, that just help push an edge of modernity to it. I think this deserves its high billing, and should be another excellent result for Bulgaria.
