One of the rules that we never question about Eurovision songs is the three-minute rule. There once was a time when songs carried on for far longer, but thankfully not any more. Most songs adhere to this strictly, but once in a while one comes along that doesn’t need three minutes to sell itself. There are others that could have been two minutes long but get stretched to make three. But that’s another story. In Vienna we had a song that was all done and dusted in about 90 seconds. It was (possibly, unless you know better) the first one since 1966 when a certain Åse Kleveland with her piano. She sang a fine song. Åse is 67 today.
Gratulerer med dagen, Åse!
