Who is going to represent Austria at Eurovision 2015 in Vienna in May? – The Makemakes are getting the host countries ticket!!! This wasn’t a straightforward fight by the reigning champines oh dear me no…. I’ll quote this from another National Finals site…

“Before the final there will be 3 shows on February 20th & 27th and March 6th. The first show will present the 16 participants who will either perform their own songs or cover versions – 6 finalists will be chosen who will then perform again during the second show. In the 3rd show the 6 finalists will each perform 2 potential ESC entries – the top 6 will qualify for the final. The voting in the first 3 shows will be determined by an “expert” jury whereas in the final the winner will be chosen by televoting (50%) and an “expert” jury (50%).”
Get it?? – No, I didn’t either – but I couldn’t explain it any better, so Craig did it for me!! Effectively then, the first round was only for the singers…. the 2nd show does nothing, then the 3rd show gets us to the final…. Convoluted or what!!
And now we are at the final, the six songs and singers are listed below. 50/50 Televote and international Jury in the final gets the winner to… well… Vienna!
Well that was the plan, but ORF sneaked in a superfinal without me knowing! – the Bastards!! 😉 – Top 2, as you can see below, went through to that final and The Makemakes (!), get the round trip ticket from Vienna to Vienna.
