The Slovenian representatives at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, Joker Out, will compete with a song called Carpe Diem. Viewers will be able to hear it for the first time on Saturday, February 4 during a special show called Misija Liverpool.
The lyrics are in Slovenian, and Joker Out will “remain true to their recognisable musical style and sound”, according to RTVSLO. And if you’re wondering what that might be, guitarist and singer Kris Guštin stated that the band would like to show Europeans what “shagadelic rock’n’roll” means.
Next weekend
The show was recorded yesterday and airs next weekend at 20:00 on TV Slovenija 1. The host for the evening is Miša Molk , self-styled icon of the Slovenian Eurovision scene. There will be performances and appearances by other former Slovenian Eurovision acts including Amaya , LPS , Nuša Derenda and Tomaž Mihelič.
