Belarus – a nice pop song … or pure propaganda?

As many of you would expect, there was a certain “hype” around the Belarusian entry … specifically whether or not Mr Lukashenko rubber-stamped the song. In that respect, 2021 seems no different to other years, albeit with what comes across as a rather pleasing ditty entitled “I’ll teach you“.

But, and here’s the rub of the whole thing: Is “I’ll teach you” the nice, wholesome pop song it appears to be on first listen? After all, the English lyric is about forgetting what’s been, and how everything will all be OK.

So … is this an innocent song, giving hope about the ongoing pandemic … or has Lukashenko had his dirty mitts all over a state-approved message?

Please read the comments below the YouTube video: nearly any living Belarusian understands clearly it’s a political attack against protesters and democracy. You should amend your article accordingly. Thanks
