Bom dia! Tudo bem? I’m back in the office this morning after a day off, giving that Phil some time to relax too. You may have been led to believe that we went to the Estoril Open tennis yesterday but I’m afraid it’s a lie. On Wednesday evening, as I was on my second caipirinha, I checked the schedule and there was little of interest, so a third caipirinha and some drag queens won the day. Or the night, it was late by then. They do like to go out late here; it was almost 4am before we got to those drag queens. I won’t tell you how many caipirinhas it took to just to stay the distance.
Our day off was a gentle affair; a bijou strollette around town, watching them build the Eurovision Village which opens tonight, then having another caipirinha in Park, a gorgeous rooftop bar, as the sun began to set.
So today we see the Big 5 plus Portugal for the first time. I’m so looking forward to these. Out first look at home entry SuRie, plus the much-fancied French entry, and the much-supported Spanish. They come up from 3pm local time. Before that we have Armenia thru’ Denmark for their second goes.
Even as rehearsals continue here tonight, some of the artists will be performing at the Village from 7. There’s also the Nordic Party, which we’ve not yet bagged an invitation to so some detective work to undertake today.
