This is the first potential winner I have seen this week. Dima Bilan is definitely a contest ‘beau’ and the song, despite its poor English lyric, is very well-performed. Dima certainly loves the camera and it follows him around the stage. Vocally he’s very confident and the backing mix seems perfect for him … and he certainly knows how to perform and seems to enjoy being on stage.
After the mostly dire twelve songs that will hit the screens before this one, it will come as a pleasant surprise to the rest of Europe – he even has ballet dancers in his background.
This is ‘class in a glass‘, as opposed to most of the week so far, which has been more soup in a basket.
This is definitely going to qualify and most likely win – if there is any justice in this world. He just blew me away.
