If you can get good odds on this have a flutter.
I think it’s safe to say the biggest ballad of the year (although not my favourite, that’s Poland – I know, I’m weird) from Russia.
Polina doesn’t even have to try to belt out a vocal that other artists here can only dream of and on the first run through her earpiece fell out and she still soared.
The staging works a treat with lights projected into her flowing frock and the lighting cleverly lifts the song in all the right places. Some sublime sweeping camera shots and overhead shots picking out the dress and the stage projections.
She’s like a friendly ice queen resplendent and in total control. I wasn’t sure of the band setting as I didn’t see that as the natural way to stage a big vocal ballad but the guitarist claps overhead in time with the drummer. This makes is more anthemic and will have us all swaying and cheering on Tuesday, I think even the boo boys will be silenced.
This, as others have already said is good, very good, and I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see Russia up there next Saturday.
Winner? Entirely possible.
