You can’t beat a lyric like the one above, can you? Today’s song is a feast for ear. And if you knew the entire translation in your own language, I’m sure you’d raise both eyebrows. It includes other lines like “He gets into a black car and I’m left alone again” and “He strokes the dog and I watch jealously”.
But what is this enigmatic song? It comes from birthday girl Anne-Marie ‘Ami’ Aspelund. She followed her older sister Monica in taking the Eurovision Markka, but finished one place further down the scoreboard. To be fair, it can’t be easy performing in front of a giant electric fire, but this is one of those classic Finnish efforts. And it also had the legendary Ossi Runne. Enjoy!
Ami is 64 today.
Hyvää syntymäpäivää, Ami!
