Apologies and round up of the first half

Well it’s just gone 21.55 EET and me is now back at my hotel room for the first time before midnight 30 in 3 days … Therefore it’s the first chance I have had to catch up on the site.

First of all some apologies. Number 1 – apologies for the lack of video reports – there simply just has not been time – HOWEVER, there is one report of the Latvian sign-language that will be put up and I promise a couple more to come as well.

Number 2 – Sorry about the lack and intervals in the coverage this year. With only having P2 accreditation, it means that Wi-Fi connections are limited to a sprint down the hallway in the Palats Sportu , up a flight of stairs, and into a press conference area where there is a network, but its limited. As such, the reports are tried to be typed “as live” and put up delayed – but, invariably, it never happens like that – hence this apology and round up session to make sure that all has been covered in the OnEurope style and details that you all love.

So, what have I learned about Kiev? Well. it’s cheap … really cheap. For example, as you know, we have a “team” out here…. we and a group of loverly Irish people (Including *that* Keith Mills from the fantastic All Kinds of Everything) – went out to dinner at a TGI Friday’s.  Seven of us, many many drinks and two courses each … roughly £16 each.

At this said meal, there was a rough scoring session , where upon it was decided that there would be a bet of 10 Hrryvna as to which songs would qualify (and no we were not pissed!!) – details of which for another time.

But back to the songs. Now, I know you lot have been reading so, for the benefit of you all, and to flesh things out a bit, are my considered thoughts on the first half of the semi final draw (and I have just opened a super cheap bottle of Vodka. Read on if you dare …
