Conventional wisdom dictates that this is a good song with a great singer – unfortunately conventional wisdom is a bag of old tripe. It’s just a singer doing very very camp hand movements, while her backing singers (in flouncy costumes) fanny about and try to make her look good. Stage in black and gold and a typically camp “catch me” at the end. To my ear, and to Franko’s eyes it won’t do a damn thing.
It is just too camp for words … having said that, camp goes down well here – as it would considering the composition of most of the press (ahem) of Europe.
However back to reality, I can see it getting big neighbourly points but very little else, to be honest.
Everyone is over dressed – the movements are over-stated and we can’t wait for it to be over. We see it as a definite non qualifier, last year’s Estonia, perhaps.
In Other News – Mr Hacksaw has been dispatched to the Europe Day celebrations in Kiev – and we like the Dumplings and Pancakes filled with Boiled Onions and Cheese with Mayonnaise – and Franko likes dead meat things.
