So, what did we learn today?

What gave we learned?

So we learn down the Daten Autobahn today then?

Firstly, and non related to today’s shenanigans, I learned that buying wireless internets and then letting Mr N Deller esq use them not only affects my savings, but my aural orifices – He has just played some shite from the 1996 German Final on Wireless – I shall be getting him back.

imageMoving on, swiftly I fancy, to what we ACTUALLY learned today. Well … all that Nick learned is that Haribo Gummibaeren are €1,59 at the local petrol station, but that’s not important either. He further states that German cleaners will not be distracted from their goal of cleaning the small but perfectly formed press centre.

That segues nicely into what we really learned, which is that there is every sign that NDR are doing everything to help anyone. Unless you lot know differently, it appears everyone is getting what they deserve (!). Musically, however there is lots of awfulness. Standout rubbish clearly needs to go to Joan Ferguson from Albania – man alive not only was she scary, but she is definitely not qualifying with that. Surprise of the day goes to Armenia.. Not for the song though, but clearly for thinking she is the WBA champion of the world (which she is, says Nick – would you want to meet Emmy in a dark alley?!) and making her sit on bizarre prop of the day for three minutes. Russia is also a surprise, however not in a good way. Someone, as we say in these parts, really needs to tell them. As for what you are telling them, well, where do you want to start?! – Shoes? Back-flip? TV Screens? LCD Back-lights from Cyberdog in London, it’s just a mess and yet, we all know its going to do really well.

Turkey is looking very ordinary. Nick and I are at odds with this one. He says it is not going through on merit because of its Vanilla-ness, I think its just good enough to get through in its own right, we’ll wait and see.

On a final note, just a thank you to YOU, yes you ( and you at the back, there!) for not deserting us – we are down on the site visits, but only 30% down, which I can cope with I guess. There will be more tomorrow, including more Cake porn (oh yes), possibly some views of the press centre and surrounds and – if you are very VERY lucky, some rehearsals!

Tchuess!! 😉
