This has seemed like a long day. Songs you tip fall by the wayside, and those you never gave a prayer to suddenly start to look interesting. Before today I had Hungary top of the tree, and Portugal way down near the bottom. Tonight they’re a lot closer in my estimations. It doesn’t half make this jolly good fun.
Azerbaijan’s rehearsal was disappointing to say the least. Imagine a bargain basement Chanée and N’Evergreen, without their funky props from last year. Then imagine a woman of the cougar variety trying to court a schoolboy. You’re pretty much near the mark. It’s as if they’re one minute competing against each other, then the next needing to really get a room. It just doesn’t work even though it’s Azerbaijan and you know they’ll qualify. Or will they?
Greece finished off, and we have business in spades going off. Plus Doric columns (or are they Ionic or Corinthian?) making it all very Hellenic. It’s another Marmite(r) song, which this blogger personally loves.
Euroclub probably beckons tonight. Or a light bite with the rest of the Oneurope team. Stay tuned folks.
