Good morning Europe…
Or should I say good afternoon! I am here in the press centre on Eurovision Island honestly though you wouldn’t know it yet would you?
I’m on my third coffee (the machine was broken but thank the lord they’ve fixed it) and gathering my thoughts. And they’re taking a bit of gathering I’ll tell you after having to have a hand held shower in the tiniest bathroom I’ve ever seen and having to fork out for a cab as we just missed the hourly free shuttle. The Yorkshireman in me is coming out!
We’ve just been let into the arena. Always a very exciting moment for me to actually see it. What a wonderful space. Hard to believe this was an empty shell a few weeks ago. Loving the stage layout this year with the options it gives the performers. The door through to the arena is not quite as impressive.
But worth tripping up over the plywood step to get my first live rehearsal of the year, Armenia.
