GERMANY – Baller – Abor and Tynna
Dear reader, let me give you a peak behind the OnEurope curtain. At time of writing, I’m in a hospital ward recovering from a lower leg amputation – bad enough in itself, I think you’ll agree, however I’ve also run out of the pre-written reviews, and am doing this live … via NHS Wi-Fi.
This also means that I have had to stop healing and listen to this shite through the medium of YouTube, for your entertainment… because it certainly isn’t in my care file!
The Internet thinks that this song is the best thing Germany has sent for years to the contest and, let’s be brutally honest here, that’s not an epithet loaded with positivity.
This song does get marks for a unexpected appearance of a cello, or possibly a double bass on stage, but behind it is a sub-standard Cascada track sung, laudably, in German … which might win some points from Switzerland, but I’m proper struggling to see who on earth is going to vote for this song. I don’t think the target audience of “those that used to go raving and want something quieter” will watching on a Saturday evening. The juries aren’t going to be that enamoured either because, frankly, the song itself is boring.
Phil’s score: 3 Points
Take care of yourself Phil🙏🙏
