13 April – There’s just one more thing I’d like to add

From high to low to high. Well, from high to ‘High’ to high our Eurovision birthdays take us. Yes, we have another winner today.

Some winning songs pass us by, but others make an impression for years and years. Back in 2000, we were in Sweden (control yourselves), and a song won that made many people a lot of money. Today’s birthday boy Niels “Noller” Olsen, and his older brother Jørgen were not fancied to win, until they took to that stage. They nailed their performance, and when they hit the key change and the lights went up, I challenge anyone not to be moved by their performance. And in a contest of youngsters, it was refreshing to see experience triumph. They even got eight maxima out of 23. One of the best winners ever? I think so.

Niels is 66 today.

Tillykke med fødselsdagen, Niels!
