It’s all coming together today. When you have someone who keeps coming back for another try. And they can represent a different country to their own, you have to celebrate. AND, when it’s a big birthday, just hold us back.
For some of you, the 1970s and 1980s might seem a distant memory, and some of you might not even have been born when today’s birthday girl Ireen Sheer (née Ireen Wooldridge) was at her peak. She tried for Luxembourg, Germany and then Luxembourg again, finishing fourth, sixth and thirteenth. In the interests of balance, I’ve picked her middle entry. I’m sure you can see why she’s won two Golden Tuning Forks.
Ireen is 70 today.
Frohe Geburtstag/Happy birthday, Ireen!
