Firing blanks

Oscar and Alex

I’ve always said I hated the German entry and ranked it in my bottom two and I’ve seen nothing in rehearsals to change my mind. The presentation is slick enough but it’s tacky. Dancers writhe on what looks like an inflatable sofa in attempt to act seductive and sexy and hark back to the glory days of Paul Oscar. Our main singer shares a lot of attributes with the Belgian singer like a lake of talent and taste, poor dress sense and a very bad song. Even Dita Von Teese‘s surprise announcement that she’ll be taking part in this performance won’t help. It’s going to take more than a stripper that most of the voters of Europe have never heard of to save this. Dita hasn’t turned up yet as she’s obviously embarrassed by this. Her stand in brandishes a whip and rides on the sofa. It’s loud, brash and only for the limited few that can understand why they bothered. And like many German entries recently it’s going to sink without trace.
