The rest of the morning’s rehearsals Caught up!

Eli & Nikki

Lithuania. Oh dear. Lithuania does sign language shocker. What on EARTH is that all about? – Walters and Thinggy got to the final, but really Is it going to help her? – She’s standing there looking like she is singing at her own wedding in that dress and a pianist next to her almost looks like he is going to offer to buy her a round of drinks. She can sing though clearly rendering the sign language useless! – On the cusp I think but failing ultimately.

Azerbaijan. I really REALLY want to hate this song. It’s clearly the Azeri version of last year’s Danish song, sticking 2 people together who hate each other and asking them to love one another in several weeks and over the course of a 3 minute song. Considering one of them didn’t win the huge Azeri selection, it is just a mishmash of things. Very well produced as iTV would expect, but considering they are supposed to be singing a duet, there feels no chemistry between them and even from the hall video it looks cold. Vocally, they have had a lot of work done and it could be any song from a DMGP of the last few years and it will qualify. I just fear for it in the final, in an “Oh my got how did THAT get top 5” way.

Greece – Doric columns, dumb dance routines?, That can only mean a Greek entry!. Stereo mike is a poor mans Daz Sampson me thinks and doesn’t add anything to the song. I don’t know what its trying to be – probably typically Greek with a modern twist is the closest I can come up with, but I don’t think that it works all that well to be honest. It appears to sound like a total mishmash of anything discernible to be honest. AKOE might say his singing is good, and it is, but the song is a total dog of a thing. I think the Diaspora are in trouble getting this one through on merit to be honest.
