Several countries in our favourite TV show don’t actually lie in Europe proper. That’s the beauty of Eurovision – we have Europeans and Mediterraneans all as one big happy family.
As you’ll know, we were in Israel in May and it is Israel that today’s birthday boy טל סונדק/Tal Sondak represented in 2001. His country has always been a very enthusiastic participants, and although he only finishewd 16th, this song could only be an Israeli song. He moves around the stage, and has the full complement of dancers to aide and abet him. If you like Israel in Eurovision, this is a prime example.
Tal is 43 today.
