So with the editor-in-chief moonlighting for a popular ESC website from Ireland, whose name I won’t mention, it’s down to me to talk down the afternoon’s assorted flavours of gloom.
Malta go first. Now, I was joking over lunch with a popular ESC website which I won’t name, but has the word “GO” in its name. What splendid trollage it would be if both Warriors were wearing similar outfits and doing the same performance on a stage that does much the same things at pretty much the same points in the song!
I feel terribly let down. There’s no lightning bolts, and no enormous eyes sobbing a lake of tears. Other than that, trollage has pretty much ensued. Amber has gone for more of a lacy look black, sure, and the symmetric wingy backdrop is rendered in slightly different hues, but yeah. It will be awkward if these get put through and land the same half of the draw, to give them both enough separation in the running order to breathe.
I propose a Warrior-Boggie-Warrior sandwich as first three songs on. I reckon this is perfectly alright as a performance, but with more memorable moodiness to follow, it might be one of the 7 rather than one of the 10 in this bit.
