I had a couple of days up country out of range of the world wide web. It was bracing. But this today’s tune was a bit of an earworm, as it sounds similar to a traditional tune out in Riigimaa.
I raised the question. Did the traditional tune come as a result of someone listening to this sing by today’s birthday boy Ben Cramer (né Kramer). Or did the writer of this song take his inspiration from Riigimaa? In any event, it’s probably not a contest song, as Ben’s little song only managed 14th out of 17.
Ben is 71 today.
