We have a very unique situation today. It’s custom for the named act to be on stage during a Eurovision performance. As far as we know, there has been one occasion where the named act had to take a step back for someone else.
That’s why we today see a preview video, and not a stage performance. Today’s birthday boy Donatan (né Witold Marek Czamara) got the golden ticket to Copenhagen with his pal Cleo. But as the song was about young ladies, Cleo took to the stage with five lady friends instead. Donatan was seen around the Danish capital, but got to watch the action from sofa-filled safety of the Green Room. They finished, just two points away from the left-hand side of the scoreboard. But if you like people washing their linen on stage, Donatan taking a step back was the right thing for you.
Donatan is 36 today.
