More rehearsals, after a lengthy break. One country where I wouldn’t expect any tardiness at all is the one in which I’m currently sitting. But here we are, about 30 minutes behind schedule, and counting. But all is not lost.
I was able to avail myself of the soup kitchen in another part of this complex. Duck with BIG mushrooms and a sh*t load of rice was the dish of the day, and damn nice it was too. And all fro the princely some of €8.90. The canteen is the one place where you can escape the hurly-burly of Eurovision activity too. But no beer (sob).
Still, the Turks, not to be outdone by our unarmed combat-minded Armenians, have a large globe on stage. Not a globe like Jonatan Cerrada‘s inflatable variety, but one that looks like it’s been crafted in Blue Peter, or some similar wholesome children’s television show. It’s almost what you’d describe as a cuddly globe. I thought it was noteworthy and quirky at the time, but something to out-quirk it can only be just around the corner.
Our Serbian friends just put in a very good rehearsal. Nina’s got that feisty look about her – I can only assume she loves a good feist. As I write, the-artist-formerly-known-as-
Alex-Sparrow is not on stage. A whole new dance routine has been promised involving some props the stage hands couldn’t be bothered to move.
More to come – maybe. 😉
