Something Spanish to end the day

Lucía Pérez

Even though Lucía Pérez is said to hate her own song and hated the thought of it going through to the final, I rather like it. It makes me smile and am sure it will make Europe smile, if not pick up the phone and vote for it!!

Nick:  So it’s the last of the 43 acts to get a taste of some stage time – the week’s flown by, really, on wings of song. And it’s really rather refreshing, fluffy and unpretentious, unlike the various flavours of importantness that have been served up by the rest of the Big 5.

No staging gimmicks to speak of that I can see, just a rather simple (bordering on naif, if I’m honest) dance routine and a very relaxed, confident rendering of the song. It’ll pull up no trees, and could end up getting lost in a crowd – being on 22nd of 25 can be a curse or a blessing, depending on who moves into the neighbouring slots following the semi-finals.

It has the feel of a song that’s going to get rather less reward than it deserves to, really, but it’s a delightful little addition to the evening’s menu.

Here, have a look for yourselves, if you like…
