Winners. There have only been a small proportion of acts that have done that at our favourite TV show. They’re a rare commodity. And even rarer from certain countries. Indeed, some winners were even false flaggers.
Today it’s the birthday of Nemo Mettler – known mononymously, naturally. He currently has a unique place – he’s the only living native Swiss winner. Yeah, we know there have been other winners for Switzerland. But additionally, no other Swiss winner beat 36 competitors, including what was possibly a hot favourite. Still, a win’s a win, and those Helvetic types put on a humdinger of a show in Basel. Nemo is also – to date – the only winner to identify as non-binary. That makes that performance in Malmö even more remarkable. But was that stage layout a subliminal sign Switzerland would win?
Nemo is 26 today.
