VC Bet are hoping that the United Kingdom entry in this year’s Eurovision is such a flop that it comes last, after a huge gamble on the bottom spot being either Serbia or any other of the 20 semi final qualifiers.
“We have had an almighty gamble on this market, and we now have a large five-figure liability on any one of the semi-final qualifiers coming last,” said VC spokesman Neal Wilkins.
“We are praying that the United Kingdom entry, to be sung by former dustman Andy Abraham, goes down like a lead balloon. It’ll save us a fortune.”
The semi finals take place next Tuesday followed by the Eurovision Final on May 24.
VC Bet have an extensive range of markets on the Eurovision Song Contest, and since they went up with prices a month ago, business has gone through the roof. “We have a lot of markets and we have taken a record number of bets so far,” added Wilkins. “The popularity of the show never ceases to amaze us.”
