We have a bonus today following the semi-finalists: Sweden also have their first rehearsal today. Frans has just been up for the first go, and there’s little wrong with this, as you’d expect from the TV company that produced it first time round in Melodifestivalen. The same camera angles – more or less – chop with effect between close-ups and full-length shots of Frans, keeping tightly to the action on stage. Only for the last chorus does Frans move from the main stage to the satellite and with him will bring in the (home) crowd reaction in the hall to give this a further boost to the close.
Since I heard this I thought it was a winner. Its cleared the Melodifestivalen hurdle and based on what we’ve seen so far for the past two days it’s still, for me, the most likely to clear the final one too. I’m going to reserves this seat in the press centre now for when we’re all back here again next year.
