Buckle up, 20 January will be a LONG night as RTVE picks the song to represent Spain at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.
Once again, the singer comes from the reality talent show ‘Operacion Triunfo‘ – a bunch of hormonal teenagers get locked up together and made to sing until viewers tire of them. This year, the hopefuls have been matched with ten songs through a complex system that combined viewer votes with the opinions of that Eurovision favourite, music experts.
Spanish Eurovision selection shows have never been known to edit the crud, so if you plan on following this live, you’re best booking a late start … or better yet, take Monday off. It starts at 22:05. It ends sometime on Monday.
Here’s the shortlist:
- Muérdeme – María
- Hoy vuelvo a reír otra vez – Noelia
- La clave – Natalia
- No puedo más – Famous
- La venda – Miki
- Todo bien – Marilia
- Nadie se salva – Natalia y Miki
- Hoy soñaré – Sabela
- Qué quieres que haga – Julia
- Se te nota – Carlos Right
María, Noelia and Miki have emerged as early favourites. The songs preview in full online from Friday.
