Today’s birthday girl Nela Pocisková knew her pal Kamil Mikulčík well, after appearing on TV together. So the omens were good for Slovakia’s return after an eleven-year absence. As we know, semi-finals can be a bit of a bloodbath. Fancied songs fall away, and that shock result gets the outsider through to the big show on the Saturday night. As we know, things didn’t go well for Nela and Kamil. They finished behind far inferior songs, even with the very classy staging. Slovakia – please come back.
