‘I blame the Dutch’ is a sentence used often. And in Eurovision, it’s especially appropriate. Although there had been many attempts to blend country and western music into Eurovision, it wasn’t until 2014, when The Common Linnets nearly won the whole shebang, that Eurovision Country became a thing. Now everyone’s at it – bit still mostly the Dutch who seem to find it hard to move on.
