As has been said – Europe, and particularly Finland, is indeed a land of contrasts. One day it’s all plain sailing – the next, well frankly, it’s not….
Yer see our gracious hosts have omitted to have the wireless LAN installed in the press area – slightly amiss one would think but, unlike several other European Countries, when we said ” can you do something?” – they recognised immediately that we were who we said we were, tried to get us upgraded (which failed) – but then said ” leave it with us”.
This is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, IF they get it up and running, we’ll be able to work from da hall. If they don’t, we’ll still be able to do the things we said, just going to and from the hotel where the wi-lan is… that in itself is not a bad thing – just, well, annoying really. But I’m happy still!
OnEurope will present you with a panorama of our bit of Helsinki later in the day – so you can see what we are seeing – so you know what is going on…. and, you will hear from us tomorrow, Depending on the state of the wi-lan connections – probably in the Lunch Break with lots of Info in small chunks for your digestion and some pictures n shit.
Life is sweet here, if a little bit annoying!
