Still loving it. It’s a pity that Europe only gets to see the final result and not the preparations for this, because it’s been easily the most fun rehearsal session of any country in the semis. There’s something about people playing with vocoders that really does it for me.
It’s as good a piece of 70s pop as anyone made in the 70s in my opinion. If Belgium had sent it to the contest in ’77 or ’78, they’d have won it by a street. It’s qualifying for me, I think, and certainly doing huge business west of the Alps – never underestimate the possibilities of a simple fun singalong party song in this contest.
