It’s nice here in Köln. Every time we try to talk to anyone in German, they rather urgently start talking to us in English in order to make it stop. Languages are a gift!
Anyway, it’s all been rather smooth sailing with the getting here, apart from the fact that Phil doesn’t know what “Ab” means with hilarious consequences and the approaches into our respective airports were a little bit rock ‘n’ roll.
Not sure about our mini-press centre yet – it’s workable but awkward to have two of us online contemporaneously at the simultaneous same time… so from your point of view, probably ideal, I suppose.
Foodery – first venture into Köln shows promise. Buon Giorno Pizzeria and Stufforia got the nod for night one, and it’s good. Bier, for those who like such things, is cheap and plentiful; Fanta is more expensive than Bier, but not disastrous – and Phil’s steak was done to perfection whilst my penne alla salmone was delicately flavoured yet filling and deliciously substantial. They’ll be getting another visit.
No cake or cheese porn yet for you, although the baked Camembert and bruschetta starter was impressively robust and fecking huge.
Tomorrow we’ll do some other stuff. This may involve venturing into the Dorf and seeing what we could have won! For now, night all! 🙂
