Malta – Mariana Conte – Serving
So Malta had this wheeze, right, that they would have a song in their final which was all about the empowerment of women and using the latest phrase that the kids use, serve you some Kant…
The composers *knew* what they were doing, they wanted to stir up everything no talk about an entry which is, lets be honest, a lowest common denominator entry with Mariana prancing about and giving it large on stage bouncing on some medicine balls on stage and, because of the nasty EBU and the laws in several countries, changing the title of the song to “Serving” because we all hate the Maltese language.
Narrator – We do not hate the Maltese language. What we hate is an artist that is so committed to the lie that they convince others its true. As for the song itself, it’s average at best for a song with only one idea and one redeeming feature. I hear they have drafted in Destiny in an attempt to make the vocal stronger. A thought that they have tried before on a weak song. She can do all sorts of things – she can’t lift this though. It’ll qualify, because the televoters of Europe are stupid and like the word cunt.
