I’ve tried so hard to like ‘Limits’, but it’s proven to be a task way beyond me.
Vocally, things start out just fine, but PAENDA sounds to have gone for that style of writing where the words are rammed in. Done well, it creates emotional intensity. It’s not done well here.
The chorus, on the other hand, goes heavy on the whimsey and lacks a memorable hook.
And I know this is a video, but PAENDA looks ill at ease with the performance, as if she’s struggling with dry mouth given the closely textured lyric.
As a package, I’m reminded of the way Austrian songs used to sound at Eurovision. And I predict we’ll not see this on Saturday.
