Phil’s Eurovision Countdown – Part 40 – Switzerland

For the first time in such a long time, in fact for about ten years, the Swiss have produced a credible entry capable of getting through the Semi Final!

Luca is a good-looking boy, and he shows his Latin credentials by singing this belter of a song really well.

It’s well written, with the “banger” quality of a driving beat and the kind of memorable hook more associated with Greece and Cyprus than with Switzerland.

In a sea of same-sounding songs, one that shouts “Dirty Dancing” with a cheap Latin beat will certainly get noticed … and as I am a sucker for both a good looking boy and said cheap Latin beats (yes Malta 2000 I’m looking at you here), it all adds up to a fine song!

Sailing through to the final and potential top five finisher.

Phil’s Score – 12 points

Nope – I meant Malta 2000 – If I meant 2001 I’d have said that 😉
