Have you missed me? I’ve missed you all, and the chance to revive some obscure track, just because its singer has a birthday.
But we’ve not gone obscure today. Even those with the shortest of attention spans will know that plucky little Belgium came fourth last year. The singer was the young Walloon Ellie ‘Blanche’ Delvaux. It was a surprise to me at least that she did so well. Granted, I had high hopes when I saw the preview. But the staging seemed lacking to me. What do I know? In the Grand Final, she scored off every country except Georgia in the televote. So good on her.
Blanche is 19 today.
