What do you think of the stages? Are they too over the top? Do they compliment a song perfectly? And do performers need to make the most of them?
Back in 1984, we had a typical stage for the age. It was functional, and had an orchestra somewhere. But there was still room to move around. Unless you were today’s birthday boy Jacques Zegers. He had four young ladies with him. And they were very much with him. They wouldn’t leave him alone. Maybe they were his protection squad. After all, he came from a neighbouring country and would have been popular in the Grand Duchy. Anyway, he was also popular in the rest of Europe as he finished fifth, and was a portent of things to come for broadcaster RTBF.
Jacques is 72 today.
Bonne anniversaire, Jacques!
