26 May – Read my mind

Back in the mists of time, just after the Eurovision Song Contest started, in the 1990s, a certain musical country from the Baltic started doing really well. So much so, that a win wasn’t far away.

I jest of course. The contest had been going nearly 40 years before Estonia first took part. And we know it won in 2001. But it’s sometimes fun to look at the song the year before a country won. So here we are in 2000, when Eda-Ines Etti did her stuff in Stockholm. If you look closely, a certain future winner was there helping his then-girlfriend out. But this was definitely Ines’s moment. She didn’t get a single maximum with this fine, fine song, but she set out the ground for 2001…

Ines is 38 today.

Palju sünnipäeva, Ines!
