After a few years of having Semi Finals (usually in Tartu), ERR have reverted back to having a single, solitary final to be held on 16th February, somewhere in Estonia. My bets are that new Ice Palace place in Tallinn but I’m not 100 percent sure.

There are, eventually, going to be sixteen in the contest with that last place being voted for by the Estonian Public in some sort of wild-card round early in January.
There are a number of artists in the list that have tried before to get through to the Eurovision with the biggest name amongst them, arguably, being Anna Sahlene. As Shalene (without the first name) she was Estonia’s representative back in 2002 where she finished in a tie for 4th place with the UK. She’s also had a couple of tries in Melodifestivalen in Sweden, most recently in 2009 finishing in a lowly seventh place out of eight.
The format is the one thing that is going to be unchanged. Just to remind you, the sixteen songs will all sing in the first round, then there will be a break for the news, then the international jury votes (which will be cast the night before, for the record) and then the top three will go forward to a Superfinal which is televote only. It’s going to be one long ass night in Tallinn, thank god the beer is going to be cheap!
