A winner? Well, there have been 70 of them, so they’ll crop up here from time to time. There is another winner who has a birthday today, but I’ll save her for another year.
Today’s birthday girl Anne-Marie David has actually represented two countries in her time. She’s French by birth but won for Luxembourg. So that’s why I’ve taken a Luxembourgeois slant for this. Anne-Marie is still a familiar face on the Eurovision circuit, and a welcome one at that. Her win in 1973 was a very close affair, even when the scoring system was different to the one today. Only six points separated her from second and third.
Anne-Marie is 71 today.
Bonne anniversaire, Anne-Marie!
