This is a challenging watch for so many reasons.
Lets get the first thing out of the way, Mariam has a great voice but, as with so many, many things Georgian in Eurovision contests, this is what GPB put forward and they dont care about anyone else. It is staged with six on stage with stylised nuns habits on, looking not unlike a dancing box of matches.
It’s very intense. Mariam performs the backside off it and I have a connection to her and believe her when she is screaming the song at me (in a good way) – I just worry that the kids of Europe aren’t going to “get” the product that she is selling to them and will ignore it because it is too difficult for them to get their heads around – believe you me, it’s difficult for me to get my head around!
