Our favourite TV show can be a springboard to stardom. Or it could be a time to perform on TV before you go back to working at Starbucks*. We always hope it’s the former scenario that wins out.
Today’s birthday girl Anna Odobescu didn’t have the best of times when she went all the way to Tel Aviv with high hopes of Moldova’s first win. We know what happened as she finished twelfth in her semi-final, possibly behind some she should have beaten. Eurovision can be a wicked thing sometimes. But her Eurovision story didn’t end there. Fast forward one year when the world was in lockdown and we got the feature film Fire Saga. Who should crop up, mixing with the great and the good (and Alexander Rybak), but our Anna. Maybe there’s hope for other semi-finalists yet.
