Iru Khechanovi, the winner of the latest season of ‘The Voice – Georgia’ and former Junior Eurovision winner will take to the stage in Liverpool in Semi-Final 2 on Thursday 11 May.

According to broadcaster GPB, time will now be spent selecting and perfecting the right song for Liverpool 2023. There’s no sure-fire information about the process, but Iru would be mad to disregard working with  Giga Kukhianidze, the creative power behind 13 Junior Eurovision songs for Georgia, including their three winning entries!

Iru was previously a member of Candy – an all-girl teen-pop group from Tbilisi, the other members being Irina Kovalenko, Ana Khanchalyan, Mariam Gvaladze and Gvantsa Saneblidze. They won the 2011 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, with their song “Candy Music”
