Ekstra Nena or just enough? Serbian telly names Beovizija songs

Broadcaster RTS has named the acts in the running to represent Serbia at May’s Eurovision Song Contest.

The road to Beovizija 2019 has been far from straightforward. The submission deadline was extended due to lukewarm interest. It eventually resulted in 76 entries. After accusations of foul play in 2018, organisers assigned each song a unique secret code. The identity of the writers and performers was only revealed after judges agreed on a 24-strong shortlist.

Twelve songs compete in two semi finals on 27 and 28 February. Six from each make the final on 3 March. Once again, voting is split equally between viewers and ‘music experts’.
