Cold off the presses from NDR themselves, the German broadcaster has announced that there will be some special guests at the German selection show.
Star guests at the German ESC preliminary round: The BossHoss perform with Ilse DeLange
Program: Friday, 3 March, at 10.20 p.m., on German TV-Channel “Das Erste”
On 3 March, the audience will decide who will compete for Germany at the ESC final in Great Britain (I didn’t write this!), at the live show “Eurovision Song Contest 2023 – Unser Lied für Liverpool” on “Das Erste”. Besides the musicians competing for the ticket to Liverpool, the “Interval Act” has now also been determined: During voting time, the country-rock duo The BossHoss will perform on stage together with the Dutch star-musician Ilse DeLange. They will present their current single “You”.
Collaboration
After “Jolene”, “You” has been the second collaboration between the duo and Ilse DeLange. Alec Völkel and Sascha Vollmer have released eight albums so far, two of them have recently reached number one on the German charts. Their new album will be released at the end of April.
Further, Ilse DeLange is also one of the guests on the show that TV-host Barbara Schöneberger welcomes for an exchange on the couch. They will be joined by TV-host and singer, Florian Silbereisen, who was a prior jury member at the German preliminary round in 2017; model, actor and TV-host Riccardo Simonetti, an avid ESC-Fan; Malik Harris, who won the preliminary round in 2022 and represented Germany at the ESC in Turin.
Nine acts
This year nine acts will be up for choice in “Eurovision Song Contest 2023 – Unser Lied für Liverpool”. Eight of them have previously been selected by the NDR ESC editorial team and an advisory team of national and international music experts: Will Church, Frida Gold, Patty Gurdy, Lord Of The Lost, René Miller, Anica Russo, Lonely Spring and TRONG. The community has chosen Ikke Hüftgold as the ninth act via TikTok voting.
The German television program “Das Erste” will broadcast the show live from the MMC Studios in Cologne on 3 March, 10.20 p.m. Fans can also watch the show on ONE, Deutsche Welle, eurovision.de and ARD-Mediathek. Further, the latter platforms will also present the prior warm-up live from 9.20 p.m. onwards.
