Phil’s Eurovision Countdown 2023 – Part 2/37 – Armenia

Armenia – Brunette – Future Lover

I just want to find someone who likes me enough to kiss my face.  No, no not me dear reader, I am attached, but that’s what brunette is singing about in the first minute and a half, a shopping list, or tinder advert, your choice.  All she needs to sing is no Fats, fems or olds and she’s on the right track.   In the preview video, at least in this bit, she is ljust standing there mostly with a paleface telling me what I should be in order to get into her affection and, let me tell you, I’m none of her ingredients.

Her shopping list over, she then launches the song into a Beyonce direction with the addition of two bells crashing on stage and then decides to witter on about, seemingly, her mental state for another minute.    I don’t know what this song is trying to be because, to me, its just nothing spectacular because I don’t think the writers know what to aim for.  Do they aim for female empowerment like so many other countries have tried? Or do they stick with a popular sound and spill Burnette’s heart all over the stage?  They have fallen between two stools and whilst the execution is good, the ideas are flawed.  I’m swiping right.
