Absolutely Nottet wrong with that Belgium!

Loïc Nottet (still no idea how to pronounce him) up next and he’s in fine voice although suffering a little teenage acne. He’s had his hair coiffured and is in all in black except for his red and white striped shirt. The Belgians like their quirky choreography don’t they? Roberto Ballerosa had the jerky, quirky girls and Loïc has a backing group in an array of white and cut off trousers. He strides towards them, past them, they ignore him, all sing the backing vocals in different directions and at one point he lays down next to them and thrusts his crutch skyward. Another phew! But this all works a treat for me. I love how it’s contemporary and totally different to anything we’ve seen before.

His mic pack dropped off in the second rehearsal, he’ll need to borrow some of Trijntje’s tit tape to secure it. This deserves to qualify on originality and it does leave you wanting to hear and know more. He’s confident today and at the end the backing dancers all lie down on stage. Great finish. This is good. Bravo Belgium!
