As always, Georgian TV has chosen to follow its own Eurovision path – you say banger, they say open-throat close-harmony vocal group. Sadly, this is no Trio Bulgarka.
‘For you’ starts low key with tinkly piano and controlled vocals, and then … well, it drifts along (dirge-like) to an ever-so-slightly rousing final chorus/verse (it’s hard to tell).
Visually, we’re in ‘Sunday league footballers out on the town’ territory. I can imagine Iriao will offer pursed lips, pained artist nods and oft-closed eyes as they guide us through their (long-feeling) but worthy three minutes.
It’s all so earnest. And probably very clever, and they should win awards. And dull, did I say dull?
